Desti.ne to continue

Desti.ne is the name of the IT system used by destinations across the North East to power their websites (including VisitNorthumberland.com), and provide business listings to national commercial websites and Tourist Information Centres. Funded by One North East, from April 1st Desti.ne will be managed and paid for by the Northumberland Visitor Economy Partnership (NVEP) / Northumberland Tourism.
Northumberland Tourism is in advanced discussions with the providers of Desti.ne, and anticipates finalising contracts within the next few weeks. The NVEP Shadow Board has approved purchase of the system at a considerably lower price than that previously paid. This is possible in part because Northumberland Tourism has developed a number of lower cost online marketing and business management tools itself, reducing our need for parts of Desti.ne. Our lower staff numbers have led to reductions in licencing costs as well.
