British Travel Awards 2017

Northumberland has been nominated for the Best UK Holiday Destination at the British Travel Awards 2017 and we're looking to go one better this year after taking the Silver award last year for the third year running.

The British Travel Awards is the largest travel awards programme in the United Kingdom. Travel and tourism organisations consider success in the British Travel Awards as the highest of all travel accolades because it's the visitor that determines the winner.

This year, Northumberland is the only county in the North East to be nominated in the category for Best UK Holiday County/Destination.  Against other nominees Cumbria/Lake District, Norfolk, Pembrokeshire & Tenby and eight-time winner Cornwall, it is hoped the whole North East region will get behind the four-time nominated county to bring home the Gold.

We've seen the likes of Robson Green, Steve Cram and Alan Shearer get behind the campaign and share the Northumberland Spirit but now we need you, the tourism businesses to get behind the award and encourage visitors to vote for Northumberland before it's too late! Whether it's pointing visitors to the or spreading the message via social media using #ShareNland, you're help is very much appreciated.

Voting comes to an end on the 30th September 2017, all you have to do is visit and vote for Northumberland in the 'Best UK Holiday County/Destination' category, you'll also be entered into a prize draw to win a range of prizes including holidays and short breaks around the world.
