What we do
We have a range of online and print products and services in which tourism businesses can advertise:

The Official Holiday and Short Breaks Guide for Northumberland - Advertise

The Official Days Out and Attractions Map - Advertise

Northumberland was a partner with VisitEngland in their ‘Growing Tourism Locally’ 3-year campaign which was funded through the Regional Growth Fund.  Northumberland’s share of this funding was £375,000 over the three years, 2012-15.

This funding has now finished, so our campaign activity going forward is independent, although we do partner with VisitEngland on projects as they come up, such as Access for All in 2015 focussing on accessible holidays. Its in our nature

Our main campaign for 2016 is 'It's in Our Nature' - focussing on gardens and landscapes in the Year of the English Garden and 300th anniversary of the birth of Capability Brown.

We offer the opportunity for all businesses to become campaign partners, with different levels of partnership making it affordable to all sizes of business.

PR activities are a cost effective way for us to promote Northumberland to prospective visitors.  We respond to requests from TV, press and publications for information and images, and also proactively encourage journalists to consider visiting the county and publications to include positive stories about the county.

If you have a story that you think would be of interest to the press, or you would like to help us by hosting journalists or providing a prize, please let us know.

Social Media & Blog

We proactively use social media channels to spread the word about Northumberland and our events, and to encourage visitors and fans to promote us to their friends and family. We also have a blog which is updated regularly with stories from around the county. We are always looking for new content and are happy to work with guest bloggers, so please get in touch if you would like to contribute.
