Olympics Torch Relay route announced

The communities which will be visited by the Olympic Torch Relay have now been announced. We are delighted that the Torch will pass through seventeen communities in Northumberland as the London Organising Committee aim to bring the Flame to within one hour of 95% of the population.

On Thursday 14th June, the Torch will enter England via Berwick-upon-Tweed. It will travel south to Alnwick where a large evening celebration event will take place. On Friday 15th June the flame will continue its journey south through the county before entering Tyne and Wear. The Torch will return to Northumberland on Saturday 16th June where it will pass through communities in the west of the County before entering County Durham.
