Internationally Acclaimed Opera to perform in Northumberland Music Festival

Opera, Brass, Gilbert and Sullivan, Bach and the Northumberland Pipes are to feature in a ten day Festival being held in three of Northumberland's finest houses, Guyzance Hall, Doxford Hall and Eshott Hall between 28th October and the 6th November.

The programme will feature established musical companies from Grand Opera to Colliery Bands. Garsington Opera will open The Northumberland Music Festival [www.nmfestival.com] with classical opera concerts featuring well known operatic excerpts from composers such as Vivaldi, Verdi, Mozart and Puccini. Their closing concerts during the second weekend will feature the best of Gilbert and Sullivan.

Other performers confirmed to date include:

  • The Polyphonic Brass Quintet
  • The Kingsmead Strong Quartet
  • The Durham Miner's Association Brass Band
  • Northumbrian Pipes and Fiddles

A unique feature of the concerts will be the menus that accompany the programme! Good food will feature alongside the music at most of the events, and it will match the style of the music. Pie and Peas will accompany the Brass Band, and a Champagne Supper will be available to toast the singers in the Gilbert and Sullivan.

Details about all of the concerts and how to book are on the Festival's Website, www.nmfestival.com. You can also phone the Festival's Phone Line on 01668 283100, or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for further details.
