The future of tourism: have your say

VE future of tourism

Government plans for an industrial strategy, and calls for sectors to pitch for a deal, is a one-off opportunity for tourism to be recognised as an industry of the future, competing globally and backed by Government.

VisitEngland have launched a consultation to support an industry-led bid for a new sector deal for tourism. The deal will focus on key areas for the industry: Improving productivity, Improving infrastructure and connectivity, How to make tourism the industry of choice for young people and develop the necessary skills base, How to ensure that we have the right product for changing customers and continue to compete globally in a digital world, Developing regulation that enables tourism growth.

Steve Ridgway CBE, former CEO of Virgin Atlantic and current hotel owner, is leading the tourism bid and VisitBritain is supporting the industry to pull together the bid and ensure that all the sectors involved in tourism speak with one voice.

VisitEngland are particularly keen to hear from SMEs who are the bedrock of the industry and from businesses right across the UK.
