The Northumberland Days Out and Attractions leaflet is the county’s only county-wide post arrival information leaflet. In 2015 250,000 of these leaflets were produced and distributed to a range of outlets within a 3 hour drive time of the county.

The research we conducted about the users of the Leaflet yielded some very positive and encouraging results.

When asked if the Days Out and Attractions Leaflet inspired a change in their plans, 1.7% of respondents said they stayed in the county longer, 40.4% visited attractions or areas they hadn’t thought of visiting and 17.3% visited more attractions or areas than originally intended.

This means that the Days Out and Attractions Leaflet directly generated an additional £4.29 million for Northumberland's tourism industry, with an extra 4,693 nights spent in Northumberland as a result of using the leaflet.
