Quality and Customer Service

All accommodation providers that advertise on www.visitnorthumberland.com have to sign the Northumberland Tourism Accommodation Quality Charter.  This promises that the accommodation will abide by all legal requirements and commit to providing a warm welcome and high level of customer service to our visitors.

Accommodation providers are also encouraged to consider gaining accreditation from a recognised quality assurance body.

Quality in Tourism & The AA

Quality Assessment provides useful information to consumers about the quality of accommodation that is currently available in and around the UK. Quality in Tourism and the AA act as a reliable regulatory bodies for the accommodation and tourism industry, recognising quality, differentiate levels of facilities and services and make potential guests aware of what they can expect before they make a booking.

Most of the schemes and awards featured throughout this website recognise increasing levels of quality using a rating system of 1 – 5 stars. In a select number of schemes, excellence is further acknowledged with the use of the acclaimed Silver and Gold awards.

Quality scores are given by professional assessors based on every aspect of the experience including the comfort of the beds, the quality of breakfast and dinner and, most importantly, the cleanliness of the accommodation. Gold and Silver awards are given to accommodation providers who ‘go the extra mile’ to make your stay a special one.

Full details about Quality Assesement can be found on Quality in Tourism and the AA's websites.
