Building partnerships across Northumberland with our businesses

At Visit Northumberland we feel it is very important to keep up to date with our partners and make sure we have the finger on the pulse with regards to the tourism experience Northumberland has to offer.

In order to do this the whole team take part in familiarisation days.

We have been on the road this month to rediscover Kielder Water & Forest Park and Alnwick Castle.

A huge thank you to Alex MacLennan (Recreation and Public Affairs Manager Northumberland, Kielder Forest - Forestry England) and Paul Nichol (Operations Manager at Visit Kielder) who expertly negotiated the tracks around Kielder Water and Forest Park and up onto Deadwater Fell.

A big thank you also to Leigh Venus, Chief Executive of Kielder Observatory, for his informative talk and Catherine Little (Head of Administration) who showed us all the fabulous facilities on offer at The Calvert Trust.

Our latest visit this week was to Alnwick Castle.

After a very fruitful meeting with Catherine Neil (Head of Alnwick Ventures) and Victoria Perkins (Head of Marketing) we were treated to a tour of the rich history of the castle and very impressive Italianate State Rooms by Deborah.

Thank you so much to you all for your warm welcome and time.
